Mac Viva Glam with Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper and Sharon Osbourne

I was watching the fabulous Ustream Video live of  M.A.C AIDS FUND spokespersons and global superstars, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper. The talked about M.A.C AIDS FUND and M.A.C Cosmetics VIVA GLAM ‘From our Lips’ campaign. I think this was the best thing that I saw online in a long time. To see two culture changing women talking about how a beauty product can help spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and Safe sex. Lady Gaga’s fashion sense was out of this world! I also love Cyndi Lauper fabulous geometric print tights! If you want to check out the Ustream video check it out here! Fiaf Fashion Talks with Tommy Hilfiger

The famous American designer Tommy Hilfiger will talk about his career and the story behind his brand at  the French Institute Alliance Française in NYC on March 3rd! So if you want to check out about one of the best American designers than buy tix to this event. This is a great opportunity for all my fashion designers out there.  You can gain some serious knowledge on the business from a legend in the game. For more information check out here! Model in the City

There are many fashion reality shows on TV but I have to say on of my favorite shows is Model City on Centric. Model City is about a group pf male model dealing with life, relationships, and of course the fashion industry. I found this show refreshing and realistic, which is hard to come by especially in Reality TV, lol! Check out Model City here!

I would definitely pair this outfit with any winter wonderland apparel. This gloves are also great in the spring. They make a fab fashion statement.  So if you are wear Etre gloves with a winter coat or a some skinny jeans and a tee. Accessories can make a outfit work, why not use Etre gloves to give your style an extra boost.

Givenchy Meets Religion at Paris Fashion Week

Givenchy is add a bit of religion to Paris Fashion week. I love the Jesus references and the simplistic color theory. Givenchy men’s line did not disappoint with great tailored pants and coats with be  great addition to the any man’s closet. I do not like the black tight that was present in the collection but I guess that was for dramatic effect. I just can’t see men wear tights. So for all my fashion forward gents out there, the tailor look is in!Love that tee BTW!

Bride of Frankenstein Meets Classic Equestrian was a Hit for Dior Haute Couture

I am loving the Dior Haute collection by John Galliano. It is fresh with a touch of horror. I love the vest and the fabulous equestrian boots. I thought that the Victorian style can translate into some fab piece in your closet. I would look at the Dior equestrian boots, chunky amber necklaces, and red lipstick! Got to love Dior! I never saw such a wearable Couture collection as separates.

Jean Paul Gaultier has some Fight in Him

Blood, gloves, and scars is not something you would typically describe a Gaultier collection but you will now. I love this collection. The leather jackets in this collection are boss! I have a feeling that hoodies will be integrated into the  every man’s wardrobe from casual to the night life!  I am also seeing that form fitted pants are in. Neutral colors are a big hit for men, no pastels in this collection. I also love the futuristic touches in the collection.  This collection is totally wearable and chic. Motorcycle jackets are always a item to have. Side Note Check out Jean Paul’s leather carry on bag in this collection, very nice and functional!

Zac Posen + Target = Fashion Paradise?

Famed Designer has a new Gig with Retail Giant Target. Zac Posen is bring his highly fashion and highly desire line to Target from April 25 through May 30. The Zac Posen Line will range from $15 to $150! This is the biggest steal of the century! This would be a great for all my Taurus ladies for next year! I am so excite about this line especially since Zac Posen designs start at $900 to $12,000! Target here I come!

Side Note: Zac Posen will also have a line at Saks Fifth Avenue called Z Spoke, ranging from $75 to  nearly $ 700! Also a bargain for all my fashionista with a budget and full style!

Ugg® Australia Gives Back in a Fashionable way

What does Manolo Blahnik, Betsey Johnson, Reem Acra, Giuseppe Zanotti, Rebecca Minkoff, LaROK, True Religion, Stuart Weitzman, and many other designers have in common this December? What to wear on Thanksgiving

Its getting to that time of year again, the biggest eating day of the year, just because your eating however does not mean you can not look nice, so don’t be a turkey and be sure to be well dressed and correctly for the upcoming family get together known as thanksgiving. Firstly, you can never go wrong with some accessories, to many can look cheap and tacky however, pearls go well for dinner and its not over the top, also maybe some earrings that you where most likely given as a present before to create that nice homely atmosphere.

A soft cashmere turtleneck is all the range at this time of the year, its soft, comfortable and stylish and there are many styles and colors to choose from, nothing to bright however stick to the more darker colors for the winter feel. For the guys, turtlenecks are also perfect, plus they can be made casual or dress up.

As for pants, if you are thinking of wearing a dress then nothing to short, something long and elegant past the knees, fancy is good and it can be topped of by a nice pair of flat shoes or even knee boots depending on the dress in question. Save the more exotic dresses and styles for the Christmas season, since thanksgiving is more quiet you might as well dress to match the occasion. Remember to wear a napkin, you do not want your outfit ruined by gravy or turkey remains been spilt!

Hello all my design lookout readers, I have a over the shoulder treat just for you.Today’s post is all about handbags aka Pocketbooks aka Purses and handbags. There are many types of purses. Here is a Fashion 101 lesson for all my fashion guru’s in training!

  • A Clutch is a  small evening bag without a handle. Many Clutches are long  and have a rectangular shape.
  • A Satchel is a large bag with small handle that is carried on the arm rather than on the shoulder. Satchels was the first backpack until they became a fashion accessory and popular during the 17th century! How far the Satchel has come!
  • A Duffel is a large bag usually used for travel or sports. Duffle bags are also called kit bags or gym bags.
  • A Tote is  a medium -large bag with two straps. Tote means to carry
  • A Messenger bag  aka courier bag is bag with a long strap to be worn across the body. Made popular By bike Messengers. Great alternative for a suitcase
  • A Sling bag is very similar to a messenger bag except a sling bag is smaller. Sling bag is aka A manpurse!

Handbags can show of ones personality or carry the entire world. No matter what we all love bags. So today I am going to show you some great bags for every occasion. Get those style book out and your wallet open. This is Fashion and Design world today!

composter-twin-girlsThere is so much waste in landfills that really does not need to be there. It can take many years for our trash to break down in the already overcrowded landfills. Yet the same waste products that crowd the landfills have some incredibly useful elements when they break down. These elements are perfect for the home gardener to utilize as nutrient rich compost, and by using one of the many choices of garden composters on the market, you can save a lot of money on mulch and soil add ins. The compost that you can create just by using the same materials you would normally just throw out are one of the best things you can use for a garden. While in stores this same compost can cost quite a surprising amount of money, especially for something that is so easily done at home.

Garden composters are specialized with many varying features to make them easier and more pleasant to use. The days of offending smells and the unpleasant sight of rotting waste discards are long gone. Today’s composters are simple to use and limit (if not get rid of altogether) any offense that was an issue as little as few years ago. The compost created from the average kitchen waste is eco-friendly, and the act of composting alone saves so much more than the money. It saves space in landfills and limits the amount of harmful things going into the atmosphere from the waste treatment process.

By using a garden composter, you are creating an organic and nitrate rich soil-like substance that is the best thing one can do for a garden. The soil product created help whatever you may be cultivating grow strong and large. Even for those who may live in less than optimal areas for gardening can benefit from this same rich compost that people elsewhere can enjoy. The quality of yourself produced compost in some cases can actually be better for your plants than that of the expensive store brands. The compost you produce has far less in the way of fillers and additives.

You really cannot get more earth friendly than do it yourself self-composting. Many people associate it with the ultimate in green living, and it’s a breeze when you have your own garden composters at the ready. Simply discard the things your average kitchen throws away into the composter instead of the trashcan. It’s similar to what many already do, but far more efficient than simply throwing it all out to the curb. In no time at all, you will have your very own compost to put into your garden.
