Anna Paquin, the star of True Blood, dazzled everyone with her Alexander McQueen gown. It is this black dress that is adorned with an shoulder and neck piece. The design is very regal and innovative and also very contemporary. The actress accessorizes with simple but complimenting bracelet and of course, her new wedding ring.

Project Runway host, Heidi Klum, is always partial to short dresses even for red carpet events. Here, she wears a fabulous black dress and looks really sexy with her hair pulled back up, showing off her gorgeous neck with the lovely accessory. She is simply stunning.

I’m quite ambivalent with Mad Men’s January Jones’ Atelier Versace blue strapless dress. While it complimented her complexion and hair, the texture of it reminded me of fish shells that she almost looked like a mermaid to me. And I don’t know if that’s bad or good.

Lauren Graham, who stars in Parenthood, was a major flop in this dress. It’s as if it wasn’t finish as the cut doesn’t fit her body well. She also wore Gladiator heels with this, which actually doesn’t work.

And last but not least — Lea Michele and Saray Hyland look really elegant wearing their strapless gowns. Lea has Oscar de la Renta while Sarah is wearing Pamela Roland. This style seems to be the trend for the night.

Fall 2010 Style Tips

Fall 2010’s predominant color, according to fashion experts, will stay on the neutral side. This means we are going to see a lot of grays, beiges, nudes and camels or a combination of it on clothes, shoes and accessories. The color brings out a polish and clean style. But they may lack the fun factor of dressing. Play up these earthy colors with a few other stylish cuts and designs like the following below:

1) Go with leggy trousers and pair this with a soft, tight silk blouse. Trousers are going to be in demand this season and those wide legged cuts are going to make the perfect choice for wearing fall boots. Pick darker colors of brown for trousers, if you have fuller legs.

2) Go with the Military look, which has a lot of browns and grays and can be played up with green or olive colors. Cargo shorts or pants, military skirts and tops (or army printed fabric) as well as bags are now available at many retail stores. This style will leave people paying attention to you.

3) Go with knits and knit wear. They can be worn as jackets, cover ups, tops or dresses, with many frilly and stylish designs.

4) Use neutral accessories like a beige bag, or a pretty brown floral headband to add color to plain clothes in black or white. These accessories won’t be too overpowering but it adds something light and fun to your wardrobe.

5) Nude toned shoes go with almost anything, invest in comfortable pairs.

Adam Levine, Maroon 5 Lead Singer, Debuts Clothes Collection

Screen shot 2010-08-20 at 4.29.17 PM 222 Collection is singer and Maroon 5’s band member, Adam Levine’s fashion line and it will be launching in Las Vegas this week.

Perhaps because fashion is really a family business, Levine was inclined to follow in the footstep. His father, Fred Leving, is the owner of M. Fredric which is a boutique chain that has been in operation in Los Angeles for three decades. In fact, he is tying up with his dad for this latest venture, along with Aristotle Circa, the stylist and his father’s relative, Sami Cooper.

The singer, turned designer did say that 222 is a family affair and Adam has been into the project for every approved style and design. The clothing line includes trendy shirts, jeans and jackets, which Adam himself loves wearing. There is also a women’s line which include knitted tops and silk dresses. The styles are all very simplistic, minimalist and durable, with no prints nor embellished.

The retails price for the jeans go between $150-$280 and the shirts are about $30. The jackets retail for about $1250. There are possible plans to include dress shirts and blazers to the collection.

The singer chose the name 222, because he believed it to be his lucky number saying, “It was the address of the recording studio where our band first recorded our demo and I have it tattooed on my left forearm.”

The singer says he wears his clothing line everyday, especially on tours, but says that he will stay low key in its marketing and promotion.

“I want the line to be successful on its own merit. I would love for it to be successful without my celebrity playing into it.”

People at Alexander McQueen are really bent on upholding the late designer’s legacy in the fashion world. It’s coming out with its first ever men’s underwear line, following the likes of Calvin Klein, Armani and John Galliano’s collections.

As seen in this photo, the underwear will feature the designer’s signature skull and bones print. It also comes with that thick waistband.

The latest men’s line will also include loungewear and track suits, as well as sleep wear like pajamas and boxers.

The collection is already available at the fashion brand’s website and its stores all over the world.
