Planning a wedding this spring and looking for some new ideas for bridal headpieces and veils? Check out New York’s Bridal Runway for 2010 and you will be inspired by innovative styles to update your traditional look.
Here are 3 key trends to look for:

You can combine various ideas, but don’t go trend-overboard. Think about the style and vibe of your wedding. Having an outdoor wedding? Consider the hat for a unique 20’s look. You could also put a splash of romance into a simple, yet chic dress by entwining feathers throughout your hairstyle!

Seen at the fashion runway for Spring collection are clothes and dresses with polka-dotted prints. I don’t particularly like polka dots and I think the style gets old pretty quickly but I do think it will work for the Spring season. Polka dots are kinda fun and colorful, just like the spirit of the season.
You can incorporate this style in your wardrobe by keeping in mind the following tips —
1. Mix and match. Play with a lot of colors and contrast. Fashion this time is all about the contrast. The bolder it is the better it looks. Plus, it is fun to try and be adventurous with your style once in a while.
2. Don’t ignore the accessories. Start with a polka-dotted scarf for example and play around with it. This can be an accent to your whole ensemble.
My favorite seasons would have to be spring and summer because you can dress up in plenty of ways. You can go simple and light for the daytime….and then bundle up but not feel to overpowered and cluttered at night.
For these two seasons, here is a cheat sheet of trends you have to watch for to get it with the “in style” crowd!
As we have previously discussed, soft hues are going to be big this coming season. So choose clothes with these really feminine style. Go with vintage 1920’s for inspiration. Also, because it’s summer, Nautical fashion is definitely making a comeback.
Sheer nudes, tulles, ruffles, fringes, laces…all combined with jeans or casual cotton, are the fabric of choices for this season’s stylish wear, too. On the other hand, beige, taupe, peach, persimmon, turquoise, olive green, light yellow and gray are this season’s best color choices.
For hairstyles, loose is more likely it. But long braids or disheveled buns still look really attractive, relaxed and casual. Pink or coral lipstick shades are back.
Accessories of choice include straw hats and 80’s inspired sunglasses. Beads and bangles in many colorful designs are also going to make your summer wear so much more prettier.
Do away with dark leathered bags and go with beige, nude, while or brightly colored ones. Canvas is most preferred than leather. While sandals and flip flops will rule daytime wear, at night, you can dress it up with wedge heels or clogs. Pink shoes with a lot of character and design too.
The seasons of spring and summer is about light and fun! Enjoy it!

Despite his untimely death early last week, Gucci has just announced that it will still proceed with the Alexander McQueen label. Clothes, accessories and other fashionable collections will still be pro. uced bearing the late designer’s name and that the well-known luxury brand will still continue to finance this. So far, since the company has acquired the label, profits have risen to good numbers and that expansions were carried out by opening stores in London, New York and Los Angeles. The label also came up with a collection in collaboration with Target, for its more affordable line.
However, there are still no details as to how Gucci will proceed to sustain the Alexander McQueen label. Their latest line, geared for the fall season, will be shown to a select few on March 9th and 10th.
It has been reported that Alexander McQueen has had most of his 2010 Fall collection already done before he died. We may see this collection in the runway pretty soon, perhaps to pay a tribute to the very talented designer.

Australian star, TV personality and singing sibling Dannii Minogue is the latest famous face to grace that will grace billboards and advertisements come Spring. The British fashion brand Marks & Spencer has just signed her on as their spokesperson and image model.
The X Factor judge, who is also pregnant, will join Twiggy and Myleene Klass, as the latest endorsers for the brand. It is not known however, if Ms. Minogue will have ad campaigns done in all her pregnant beauty. But I must say that she is perfect for this. She is the right image model for the brand’s target audience — women in their 30’s and above, classy and sophisticated. I think they made the right choice.
The ads featuring her will be coming out something next month.

Seen at a recent men’s Spring 2010 fashion show…
These are traditional business suits with a slight, but very obvious, variation. The suits come in bright summer colors like watermelon, cherry. The suits come in various cuts and styles. Some have cropped pants with bunched up sleeves. Some are inspired by African couture. They’re very trendy and most fashionable. But the question is — would you think it’s too gay to have your significant others wear it? They come from various men’s wear designer — Gucci, Calvin Klein, Paul Smith, Jean Paul Gaultier and more. They actually look good in paper and in concept.
Personally though, the shades are really lovely. The icy effect is different. But it attracts too much attention and only model-looking men could actually look good in these.

The next time you flip the pages of the magazine or see a Calvin Klein billboard ad, you would be seeing new and very diverse faces. The ads, which will debut next month, will have these four men wear model underwear….and when I say diverse, it really is diverse: Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Mehcad Brooks (True Blood and The Deep End) , Fernando Verdasco (Spanish Tennish Player) and Hidetoshi Nakata (Japanese Soccer Player).
The campaign touches all households across the world, Europe, Asia, the Americas, as much as possible. And the company is not scrimping for this. It’s coming out with some really amazing ad buys, with a budget that should be quite talked about in the industry when it’s out.
Watch out for the ads when it rolls out in the spring.

The lingerie look brings out women’s more softer and feminine side. The laces, ruffles and frills provide a nice break from the edgy stye of boots and leather we’ve been seeing of late. Yes, for this coming spring season…a lingerie dress, that may awfully look like your sexy undies, will be the dress of choice for the season.
Flouncy shorts, lacey dresses that look like camisoles, chemises in pretty pastel colors — these largely form what the next couple of month’s fashion staple would be. And it would be very liberating. Make no mistake though, you cannot wear actual lingerie to get the lingerie look. There really are lingerie inspired dresses and designs you can get from designers like Dolce & Gabbana, for example.

Some celebrities have already been spotted wearing lingerie inspired dresses. Would you wear one?
