The hailed designer left a growing empire which has now picked the new fashion director that will assume McQueen’s place. That designer is none other Sarah Burton, who has served and worked with McQueen on several endeavors before his untimely death. McQueen committed suicide in his apartment in February of this year.

Accepting the new challenge at hand, Sarah Burton, in a press release over the weekend said, she will continue McQueen’s legacy by coming up with “modern beautifully crafted clothes.”
A graduate of the Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, Burton joined McQueen in 1996, fresh out of school. She is actually the head for his womenswear line but will now take control of over-all design.
Those in the fashion circle hails this new appointment believing that someone close to McQueen, as is Burton, is the right choice to take over.
