I’ve been following the show, Project Runway Season 7, avidly this past months. After about 13 weeks, they finally decided who deserves to win the top prize which included an editorial feature on Marie Claire, $100,000 cash prize to kick off his collection and a possible fruitful fashion career, a chance to sell his lines at the very popular fashion and shopping site, BlueFly.com, and $50,000 technology suite package from Hewlett Packard which will help the winner automate and streamline the collection.
Seth Aaron Henderson emerged the top winner, besting Emilio Sosa, who was a constant challenge winner, and Mila Hermanovski who showed she has the technical chops to start her own line as well.
I wasn’t rooting for Seth Aaron on the show, but since my bet, Jay Nicolas Sario, lost to Mila in the faceoff challenge to emerge 4th place, I was actually okay with the idea of Seth Aaron winning. His collection is almost gothic but still very contemporary. It’s edgy, and kind of reminds me of the late Alexander McQueen. Some of his clothes though, may take a real fashionista to wear, it’s not very street or urban, but then again, that’s what fashion is about — standing out and setting a trend for other people to follow.
Says the winner of his very recent achievement, “I’m ready to start a large clothing line. I’m ready to conquer the fashion industry, if you will.”
