Guess who is becoming a knight?

The French Monarchy is bestowing upon two top designers the honors of being knighted in a ceremony that its Culture Minister, Frederic Mitterrand will be leading. The designers are no other than Marc Jacobs and Natalie Rykiel. They will be given the recognition Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (or Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) to coincide with the opening of Paris’ Fashion Week.

Nathalie Rykiel is behind the name brand that her mother, Sonia, has started, while Marc Jacobs, as the fashion industry knows, is the creative director of Louis Vuitton, a designer label originating in France.
