Turquoise is 2010’s Color

According to Pantone, a company that supplies fashion decors to many stores, Turquoise is touted as the color for 2010 and insiders of fashion do not disagree with this. Its universal appeal and its tropical fashion flavor makes turquoise very appealing. Whether you are going to actually be in a resort hideaway or not…wearing turquoise does seem to feel that you are always on vacation. The color should also help transcend some positivity, joy, escapism and freshness, which is what many people are looking forward to for next year.

Here are some tips about wearing turquoise for next year’s fashion:

  • Although turquoise is very bright, it’s not too loud or too distractive. In the summer seasons, you can wear turquoise with white or blend it with some yellows and greens or oranges. In the colder months, you can wear it with darker colors, such as navy or black, for a year-round wardrobe ensemble.
  • At home, you can liven up the place using turquoise paint. Painting one side of the room should brighten it up. Turquoise accessories and room knick knacks when blended with darker wood furniture should pop out and help bring the room alive. Use lamps and tableskirts in shade of turquoise for a luxe looking ambience.
  • If you would like to wear turquoise make-up though, make sure to blend this with a darker teal color, as turquoise alone would be too scary.
