Trend Alert: Velvet

Velvet ruled the fashion runway  for the fall season. From dresses, to separates, to skirts and coats. These velvety outfits feature really simple lines, nothing outlandish, but with the same dramatic effect, nonetheless.

One of my favorites from the fall runway is this gorgeous and very elegant black velvet dress by Marc Jacobs and it is perfect for Holiday parties:

Marc Jacobs Asymmetrical Velvet Dress: Black velvet dress with all-over pleating. Marc Jacobs dress has inbuilt boning on top, small shoulder straps, an asymmetric pleated overlay at neck, gathered pleated waist, satin panel inserts, a satin-trimmed organza underskirt, a deep V-back and an exposed silver-tone zip fastening with grosgrain pull to fasten at back. 95% rayon, 5% silk; bonding: 100% rayon. Dry clean.

Rachel Roy also has an awesome designed velvet dress, which the designer says is best for wearing at any time and any occasion:
