Glam-net.com Launches Look Book for Spring/Summer 2010
The Look Book offers a guide to key trends in stock for Spring/Summer 2010. ‘Whilst there is a trend towards romantic feminine dresses, draping, ruffles and pleating for S/S 2010, we recognize that our customers are sophisticated women so we have chosen collections that are pretty but grown-up’, says Joanne Nye, Glam-net’s founder. ‘Nudes, crisp whites, stone and sand will be the color palette for next season, but colorful prints also featured strongly at the shows in Paris and Milan’, she continues.
The Look Book includes clothes by Bandolera, Hotel Particulier, Not so serious and Tavan & Mitto; all of whom do not have wide distribution in the UK as yet. This complements Glam-net’s mission to increase customer choice by introducing new designer brands to the UK market.

Trend Alert: Messy Ballerina Buns
If you happen to find yourself with a bad hair day, don’t worry about it. Just stick your hair up, tie it in a bun however way you like it. It doesn’t have to look pristine and perfect. The more messy it is, the better; the more fashionable it becomes.
This hairstyle would have to be what defines trends in hair by Spring 2010. It’s called the Ballerina Bun. Already, some celebrities and models are wearing their hair this way.

Anyone can wear the Ballerina bun. Don’t be afraid to wear your hair up this time. This style is really very comfortable and so easy to carry with whatever clothes you’re wearing. It’s a style that can go from casual to formal, whether you’re watching a game or walking the red carpet.
To make the style a lot more interesting, you can spruce this up with pretty hair accessories, like Swarvoski encrusted hairclips and headbands.

Fashion at the American Music Awards
Every year hordes of celebrities, actors, musicians, presenters and wannabes attendee various awards ceremonies which involves a long walk down the red carper in your hopefully fashionably acceptable outfit. Over the weekend the American Music Awards was the event of choice and many fashion trends and great styles were quickly snapped by fashion lovers.

Like every good award show the fashion lovers devoured everything seen on the red carpet to inside the hall itself. Starting with Laina Pop Princess Shakira who wore a fabulous classic black dress with Knee high boots, simple and popular. Former Black eyed pees singer Fergie had a similar look going on, with a sparkly number similar to Shakira yet longer and possibly even more stylish, to good lucks which is an easy trend to follow.
Glitzy and stylish seemed to be the look of the night from Rhianna’s experimental lazer cut Marchesa to Kristen Bell simple cota skirt and top. Many appeared as if they where heading to a ball or a new years eve party from all the glitz and glamour going on.
However it showed that the colors for Christmas and new year seem to be black which is always in and possibly silver, these two where widely used on show last night and seemed to go down well in most peoples eyes so there you have it. The colors for this season and style giving to you first from the red carpet at the American Music awards, congratulations to the winners of the awards but most importantly of fashion!

Trend Alert: Killer Skirts
Instead of wearing dresses to cocktail parties this year, why not invest in an awesome skirt instead? We’ve been spotting very stylish women in some really outrageous designs lately, leading us to believe that the Lady Gaga inspiration is everywhere. These skirts are easier to pull off than a full-on, fantastic costume. These skirts are embellished, feathered, metallic, beaded, sequined and such. But the best thing these is that you can mix and match this with less frilly tops or jackets for a more understated style.
Here are some finds worth checking out:

In black or in nude, this style is really fabulous. Wear this with a vest, or a very plain body fitting top for a really cute style. The black one is from Singer 22, the other from Topshop.

This metallic skirt meanwhile, brings you back to the glory days of disco. Funky and trendy, this would go well with a plain black shirt, for a really classic yet contemporary look. The skirt is from Singer22.
