The First Lady, Michelle Obama, was recently caught by media photographers wearing an outfit for a second time. This hasn’t happened once or twice. The First Lady is known to wear her clothes over and over. This is not so much a big deal really. But in light of the fact that a regular American is living on a budget these days, something can be picked up from the example the First Lady is setting forth.

Michelle Obama was, in the beginning, thought of a snob. Nearly a year since her husband set foot in the White House as the most powerful man in the world, and the perception towards the First Lady has changed. She has proved many of her critics wrong and is now seen as a good, intelligent nurturing and sensible mother to her kids, and perhaps to her country.

While regarded as a fashion maven, she too is also the epitome of simplicity and practicality. Michelle Obama would have no qualms about reusing or repeating outfits she has already worn and have been seen in public. In fact, she would wear them over and over, updating and changing the style with accessories and complements. This, I think, makes her a true lady of style for she can wear the same clothes differently. This also makes her a truly practical shopper/consumer, opting to have more versatile pieces she can mix and match into several wardrobes.

The First Lady really knows how to wear it well!
