Selena Gomez Launches Fashion Line

Disney Princess Selena Gomez, star of the series Wizards of Waverly Place, who sings, acts and dances, is set to add another qualification to her achievements. She’s launching her clothing line by the year 2010, calling the collection, Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez.
The selection will feature “pretty, feminine and bohemian” inspired clothing, which will have tops, jeans, skirts, dresses as well as accessories. The clothes, the press releases say, will be made from organic cotton and recycled fabrics, which should delight those who love things green.
Selena’s clothing line will get help from clothing designers Tony Melillo and Sandra Campos. Both have years of experience to carry with them, working for brand names such as Nautica and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Says Melillo on working with Selena: “She has such a good sense of what she likes and what she doesn’t like. It was surprising as I’ve never worked with someone so young, and never really expected her to be that smart. She has a desire to be involved, and nothing is sent out there without her approval. It’s nice to see her have this genuine interest.”
Says Selena on her team of designers: “When I met Tony and Sandra, I was instantly comfortable with them and now they are like family to me.They are so creative and I love how I can just call them up whenever and talk to them about everything, even if it’s just about changing a button. They’ve been so cool about everything.”
The full press release is from WWD.
