Susan Boyle in Harper’s Bazaar

In the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar (or, for those who want the article now the Harper’s Website) is a feature with Susan Boyle, the woman who shocked everyone on Britain’s Got Talent with her gorgeous voice.
When asked about the show, and her well deserved success Susan says:
“It does feel unreal,” she says. “It will take a bit of adjusting to because I’ve led a sheltered life, I know. I’ve got life experience, but mentally I have to adjust. But it’s all good. All good.” Is she glad she did it, auditioned for the show? She looks at me in amazement. “Come on!” she chides. “It goes without saying. Come on now!”
She looks fantastic, and thankfully- far from overdone or fake.
She simply looks like herself, with a completely natural choices in hair and makeup. Very refreshing in the fashion and entertainment industry.
The clothing, while many of the pieces chosen didn’t seem like something she would normally wear looked great. DListed gets it right, they called it a tiny little makeover, spot on considering she simply looked like herself (refreshingly, if I may).
Also From DListed:
Susan said, “Maybe I’ll consider a makeover later on. For now I’m happy the way I am — short and plump. I would not go in for Botox or anything like that. I’m content with the way I look. What’s wrong with looking like Susan Boyle? What’s the matter with that?“
This is very admittedly the same reason I love Susan Boyle. She is herself, and that’s that.
We could all use more of her, and people like her.
