Annie Leibovitz’s Financial Picture is Blurry

The world’s most sought after, highest paid photographer whose work has splashed the pages of Vanity Fair magazine for many years now, may be in deep financial trouble. Annie Leibovitz, whose photographs are celebrated in the fashion industry, apparently owes $24 Million, the New York Times reports. She has apparently failed to pay her loan fees to the Art Capital Group, and as a result, she could lose her house and even her famous photograph collections.
What happened here? Hiring Leibovitz herself commands such astronomical fees and it is even said that she would be provided with a lot of perks by those that hire her to do a photoshoot. But even with all these….where did all of her money go?
People who are close to her say that while she’s a talented, creative genius behind the camera, she isn’t a wizard when it comes to money matters.
“Public records show that in the last two years, Ms. Leibovitz has faced tax liens of $1.4 million and two lawsuits claiming that she has not paid more than $700,000 in bills for photography services. “The mind that can take these extraordinary pictures is not necessarily the same mind that is a perfect money manager,” said Graydon Carter, the editor of Vanity Fair” .
There are plenty of speculations and the photographer has yet to talk about this or publicly address this.
Here are just some of Annie Leibovitz’s captures on lens. Some of these photos have become quite controversial:
