Massimiliano Giornetti, the designer for Salvatore Ferragamo’s menswear collection, is going to take on women’s wear for its Fall/Winter slate this year. The designer will succeed Cristina Ortiz, who, for the last two years, have been the creative genius behind the Italian fashion house’s women’s line.
The company made this pronouncement the other day as Cristina Ortize is slated to present her last collection for Ferragamo at the Milan catwalk this coming September. The designer, who hails from Canary Island, has been working under the label for the last two years and is credited for its classy and classic designs. She has helped shaped its profile in high fashion or haute couture, which used to be only known for its scarves and shoe collection.
Ferragamo is a family owned fashion enterprise based in Florence, Italy.
