Elle and Vogue Magazine Still Top With Advertisers

Financial magazine, Forbes, has recently reported that fashion magazine Elle, in all of its 24 years, has outscored Vogue in advertising pages for this year so far. Elle has about 970 advertising pages, while Vogue has about 956, between January to June of 2009.
Magazine companies are experiencing a rate of decline in ad rolls. This is due to economics and the fact that the print medium is slowly losing out to the web medium. According to reports, Elle Magazine is experiencing a 22% drop, while Vogue at 32%.
But Vogue remains, however, on top of the ad roll pages when it comes to luxury advertisers, thus resulting in an increase in luxury page ads to 70%, up from last year’s 65%. This feat has surpassed Elle, In Style and Harper’s Bazaar’s own records.
