In true Tsarist nature, Aftershock, the leading designer for handcrafted women’s clothing and accessories, showcases it’s latest AW’09 Collection. The Aftershock AW’09 Collection makes a statement about who you are and what you stand for. East European and Russian folk tradition influences key pieces in the Prêt-à-Porter Collection. New ethical meets authentic style, creating a trendy Bohemian feeling.
The exclusive Gold Collection remains more luxurious than ever. The evening and occasion wear focuses on silhouettes taking on a truly expressive form. Swarovski crystal and sequin embellishment form decorative touches on minimalist shapes that add to the glamour of pieces.
Folding and draping sculptural fabrics and shapes define the season. Fluid fabrics contrast with solid architectural aesthetics. Skilfully cut military style coats come in every shape and colour. Handcrafted tops and dresses feature open work and fine lace fabrics. These are mixed in with classic and contemporary luxury knits.
Knitwear takes on a whole new form with printed Silver and Gold metallic foil on soft cashmere and wool mixes. Tweed makes a debut in the collection adding a touch of English heritage to the theme 1550 miles to Moscow.
The colour palette used provides a chic touch to the casual and evening wear collections. Nature is still a catalyst for the season with lots of colour tonalities of Pistachio Green, Tomato Red, Rich Aubergine, Cinnamon, Brandy, and Gunmetal Grey being present.
Accessories complement the clothing range by remaining chunky, bold and making an equally powerful statement. The Handbag Collection includes every day shoulder and tote shapes amongst the evening clutches. Metallic Handbags brighten up Grey and Black staples, and also feature in lilac to plum shades.
Layering creates the key look for necklace, earrings, rings and cuffs within the Jewellery Collection. Desirable Black diamonds and semi-precious stones evoke a rich and demure mood set amongst Gold and Silver hardware.
