Natalia Romano, a Los Angeles-based fashion house, announced today that the company will be hosting its official launch party June 4, 2009 in Los Angeles. Hosted by company Founder and Creative Director, Natalie Hara, the event will showcase the designer’s eagerly anticipated Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
With a lifelong passion for fashion design, Natalie Hara — who started sewing and making her own clothes when she was only seven years old — has been recognized as a rising talent in the fashion world. A recent graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, she continued her formal training at the school’s advanced fashion design program, selected as one of the top 11 students to design and produce a debut runway show.
Most recently, Hara’s design work was featured during the Warner Brother’s “Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary Celebration,” where an acclaimed array of artists were selected to re-interpret the iconic film through their own unique visions and artistic mediums. Hara was also asked to provide designs as part of Barbie’s 50th Birthday celebration, hosted by Mattel. More than 50 designers — including industry icons Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger — were asked by the company to make specially-designed clothes in celebration of Barbie’s half-century anniversary.
“This is my first opportunity to bring beautiful couture clothing to the women’s market, without the couture price tag,” said Hara, who is known for her “feminine and flirty” designs. She adds that the Spring/Summer 2010 collection was designed to emphasize her “attention to detail” and the use of “nicer, but less common” fabrics. “My goal is to have each piece feel timeless and special — to be something that someone would want to wear for years to come.”
The Thursday June 4 company launch party will be held from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm at the Natalia Romano atelier, 112 West 9th Street, Suite# 630, Los Angeles.
