Organizers are trying to make sure that at least 10 percent of the models walking the runways at Sao Paulo Fashion Week will be blacks or Indians. This is a big deal because if you do not comply, this can cost designers $123420.10 ($250,00 reais). The deal announced Thursday with Luminosidade Marketing & Producoes followed a state investigation according to Prosecutor Deborah Kelly Affonso. The country of Brazil is nearly 50 percent of the population is black and there is a large Indian minority.
Giorgio Armani Recovering
Giorgio is recovering from a case of Hepatitis. The famous 74-year-old Italian designer issued a statement “I have in fact suffered from hepatitis by poisoning, which, certainly is not a rare illness. Nevertheless it is one which requires some time for a complete recovery. Consequently there has been no shift in delegation of my authorities to any one of the executives and everything in the company is proceeding with the usual energy.” I am so happy to hear the Mr. Armani is doing a better. Keep an eye out for Giorgio Armani’s brands in June during Milan’s fashion week.
Fashion Hope In NYC
On September 10, 2009 over 100 stores in all five boroughs will stay open until 11 p.m in NYC. Mayor Bloomberg along with Vera Wang and the Editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour. The event will be called Fashion’s Night Out. At FNO (Fashion’s Night Out) will coordinate promotional T-shirts that benefit a 9/11 memorial and a clothing drive to benefit HIV/AIDS Foundations. The clothing drive will be location at various area during FNO event. I can not wait. I mean we all know that retail is taking a hit do to the economy, so this will certainly give a boost to some ailing stores. If you are in the NYC/NJ in September, hit up the stores and help your economy.
