LightInTheBox.com Introduces Gossip Girl Fashions

71239791080

LightInTheBox.com introduced over 100 wardrobe selections from the popular TV series, Gossip Girl. From cute hair bands to elegant evening dresses, LightInTheBox offers gossip girl fans around the world a more economic way to be the center of attention for all those special occasions.

The TV series Gossip Girl was adapted from the popular book series of the same name, written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The show was considered to be one of the most anticipated new series of 2007-2008, due mostly to the book being a New York Times bestselling novel. The show revolves around the lives of socialite teenagers growing up in New York City’s Upper East Side. The series’ drama stems from the characters attending an elite academic institution while dealing with friends, family, jealousy, and other issues.

While the plot of the show has created many controversies for the exaggeration in the amount of partying and lack of parental involvement in teenager’s lives, the costume designs are known as popular fashion trendsetters. The clothes are as much a character as the wealthy adolescents themselves. From far-out fashions to wearable trends, the Gossip Girl styles are not only for teenagers. For those who were crazy about Jennifer Anniston’s hair cut in ‘Friends’ and Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoes in ‘Sex and the City’, Gossip Girl costumes are just another fashion inspiration stemming from TV shows.

Each character in Gossip Girl has their own fashion taste, and that is one of the biggest reasons why Gossip Girl fashion is so irresistible to a wide range of girls. For example, Blair Waldorf’s style is very classic, preppy, and polished: definitely the quintessential upper-east-side stereotype. Serena Van Der Woodsen’s sense of style mixes a lot of fashion-forward and vintage pieces, prompting for a ”boho chic” look. In real life, not everyone can afford couture, and a funky wardrobe always comes with a price. LightInTheBox.com works with their suppliers to make trendsetting outfits affordable to all girls who are passionate about fashion around the world

Top Model Taping Just ‘Business As Usual’ for Penn Plaza Pavilion

head_index

Having recently completed the casting session for the next round of “America’s Next Top Model,” the Penn Plaza Pavilion has demonstrated once again that it is one of the premier exhibition spaces in NYC.

Last Saturday’s casting session opened at 6:00 AM. Trepidation was high considering the prior casting call at a smaller venue resulted in a near catastrophe. The crowd peaked at an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 want-to-be models and their friends. The event went off incredibly smoothly with accolades from all parties.

“Our preparations reflected our experience from the many events that have been held in our facilities,” noted Kenny Thompson, Penn Plaza Pavilion’s Manager. “We worked closely with the great New York City Police Department to ensure that we were ready. The unblemished results speak for themselves.”

Barricades along Seventh Avenue and west on 33rd Street ensured an orderly flow of pedestrian traffic. The Penn Plaza Pavilion’s two-story 50,000 square foot space allowed for introductory security screening on the ground floor, with access to the second floor escalator restricted to those who completed this initial clearance.

The Penn Pavilion frequently works in concert with the adjacent Hotel Pennsylvania, and has direct access into its lobby. As an Energy Star awarded property, New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania is the fourth largest hotel in Manhattan with several elegant ballrooms. In this case, the Pavilion, which host large public events, was more than capable of its own success.

Remarked Mr. Thompson, “While we could not help with any individual model’s prospects, we were able to provide CW, the television network that produces the show, with a highly successful casting venue.”

Russian Fashion Week was broadcast live on the World Fashion Channel and Russia Today Television, both reaching out to more than 300 million households worldwide. All RFW shows were available live online at http://www.rambler.ru, the most popular Russian search engine, which reaches 20 million Russian Internet users.

“Russian Fashion Week becomes stronger every season despite the crisis,” says Shumsky. “RFW estimated almost 40,000 in attendance this season, including hundreds of buyers and celebrities, and 900 accredited journalists. All collections were quite strong, so media coverage is very wide. RFW is really showcasing the elite of Russian Fashion.”

Past years have established Russian Fashion Week as a major date on the world’s fashion calendar, just behind New York, London, Milan and Paris. RFW puts Moscow on the global stage every April and October, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Fashion Foundation and the Russian Union of Businessmen and Entrepreneurs.
