Valentine’s day is right around the corner. Many men and women are getting ready to pop the question to their significant others. So I decided to give you some wisdom in selecting the perfect ring for you future husband or wife to be. I am going to discuss the perfect gem, different setting, what type of shape would you like, and how many carats do you need.  Let get started all my designlookout.com readers! There are several shapes you can get for the perfect engagement ring.

Round Brilliant- The Round brilliant shape is the standard shape for all diamond. According to Thediamondbuyingguide.com, 75% of diamonds are round brilliant! It is a great traditional look for any engagement/anniversary ring!
oval-cut-diamond
Oval- this shape is symmetrical and great for a person with small hands! Who ever thought that a diamond could give the illusion of longer hands!The bad thing about this shape is the tendency to have dark area.
marquise-cut-diamond
Marquise -Legend says King Louis the 14th commissioned this design to honor his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour. It is a great choice for a small diamond. This shape gives the illusion of a bigger diamond. If your mate is all about size but you are about quality, than this shape is for you!

brilliant-pear-cut-diamond
Pear Shaped- Though the pear shaped diamond look like a tear, it will make anyone happy. This shape is use mostly for earring or a necklace. It has a lengthen affect on fingers similar to the Oval. The pear cut also prone to dark spots!

Princess Shape- the princess cut is brilliance of a round shape in a square package. The princess shape is an upside-down pyramid! You will have a pyramid on your hand! Princess shape diamond/gemstone is less than round shape diamond too.

Emerald- if you are looking towards a colored diamond or a gemstone for your mate’s ring, than chose the emerald shape! The emerald cut was perfected for colored stones because increases a stone’s color. This shape is also the best to just clarity and the cut of a diamond/gemstone!
