Best and Worst Dressed Oscar Celebrities

Many want to know who do I think is the best and worst dressed at the Oscars! I will have to say there weren’t many fashion issues this year. I not saying that the fashion disaster were not in attendance, I just saying that the fashion police did not have as many arrest like last year! Lets get started!

Angelina got it right this time! This black strapless Elie Saab gown was gorgeous! I will have to say this look is classic! Welcome back Ms. Jolie to the fashion elite. We missed you! I also loved the 65-carat Colombian emerald ring and 115-carat emerald earrings from Lorraine Schwartz! Can you say glam! I can!

I was not feeling this at all. This is a horrible choice for Jessica Biel. Jessica as a wonder shape but this dress made her look boxy! Yes boxy is a word. Ok its a word in my head but a word none the less. Lmao! I love Prada but this was a bad choice. It ok Jessica you will get it right next year. Just remember that you are dating Justin Timberlake and that is never bad!

Anne Hathaway look wonderful in this Giorgio Armani, mermaid silhouette dress! She looks like a mermaid in a good way. If you are going into the mermaid look, this is the way to go. I love the color too. Anne Hathaway you are my style hero! I can not wait to see her in Alice in Wonderland!

Taraji P. Henson looks wonderful in this Roberto Cavalli. Taraji had an amazing statement necklace by Fred Leighton. This diamond flower necklace was made in the 19th century! Ms. Henson you get the award for best jewelry! Congrats and welcome to the fashion elite!

Viola Davis looked great in her Reem Acra gown. I love this gold metallic halter neckline emphasis her great figure. I loved her in Doubt and she is theatre veteran. Congrats on your Oscar nomination and your great fashion sense.

I love this Elie Saab gown worn by Evan Rachel Wood. I will say that this dress was very safe. There is nothing wrong with safe but nothing exciting about it either. Great job Ms. Wood. Though this gown was safe, I was not sorry to see it!

This was a fashion disaster. Beyonce, what were you thinking. This dress looks like a horrible curtain. I was also disappoint with the lack of jewelry. Beyonce needed something around here neck. This was a bad fashion choice. Beyonce stay away from the House of Deron. I know that is your mother’s fashion line but this is just tacky! Where is Jean Paul Gaultier when you need him?

Estelle is a great singer and most of the time she has great fashion sense but this outfit is ridiculous! This fashion catastrophe is a combination of the TV show Dynasty and the Jetsons! Those shoulder pads can knock an eye out! Estelle I know that you can do better than this. Who ever told Estelle that this outfit looked good, should be smacked! That’s right I said it! Some outfits are better left on the runway!

Ok, Rick Martin did a huge fashion HELL NO, here. This is not a way to make a come back Ricky! If this is not a flashback to Flock of Seagulls hair, than I don’t know what it is! The 80’s look is getting a bit out of hand. I mean come on people, give the sever 80’s look a rest! A few 80’s accessories here and there ( IN A OUTFIT) but 80’s hair is ridiculous. Fire your stylist, quick!

Keri Hilson is usually a fashionista but this look is so passé. The worst thing about the makeup! This look make Keri look so old. I love Keri Hilson, so I hope she will never ever pull this look out like this again. I love the accessories but I hate the esemble. This outfit just turned me off!

Look great, Smell great, and be great

It is 2009 and the old makeup tricks are out. We are looking at bright red shimmery lips, bright cheeks, thick long eye lashes, and smokey eyes! So Today I am going to show some great products to use. So may be a bit pricey will others may be cheap! I will talk about 4 items that I believe are buzzworthy!

I love this perfume. It has a light aroma yet heavy enough for others to notice. It does not overwhelm others. I love the design of the bottle. I love sneakers! There are comfortable and stylist. Everyone from Kanye West to Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick. Sneakers are becoming a big fashion statement. Even at the NBA 09′ Allstar game, many viewers were interested in the footwear more than the game itself! Sneakers are taking over! The best thing about sneaker is that anyone can wear them. The perfect engagement ring-setting

Valentine’s day is right around the corner. Many men and women are getting ready to pop the question to their significant others. So I decided to give you some wisdom in selecting the perfect ring for you future husband or wife to be. I am going to discuss the perfect gem, different setting, what type of shape would you like, and how many carats do you need. Let get started all my designlookout.com readers! Today lets talk about the perfect setting! So you are probably wondering– what type of setting should you get? Take notes!

The Claw setting
This is the most popular for a variety of reasons. The Claw a.k.a the prong setting consist of four or six claws that holds the diamond. The best thing about this diamond is it allows the max amount of light to enter a stone from every angle. This gives the diamond larger and more brilliant look. The claw setting can hold large diamonds securely. This is a popular for women’s solitaire diamond rings. Your choices of variations with the prong setting range from: pointed, rounded, flat and V-shaped. Go for flat or rounded.

The Channel setting
This setting is mostly used for wedding and anniversary bands. A channel setting will set the stones right next to each other. This setting protects the girdle area of the diamonds better than a prong setting. It also provides a smooth exterior surface.

The Bar setting
The Bar setting is similar to the channel setting because it holds each stone in by a long thin bar. If you are looking for a contemporary and classic look than this setting is right for you.

The Bezel setting
The bezel setting basically a setting that is enclosed around the diamond. The backs can be opened or closed. It is best to opt for a closed back. This setting is great for warmer-colored diamonds especially in yellow gold. So if you have a colored gemstone or diamond for your engagement ring, go for the bezel setting.

The Tension setting
The tension setting is when a diamond is held in place by the pressure of the band’s metal. In other word, the diamond/gemstone squeezed by metal. The result is a highly contemporary, fashionable look. So if you want something unique, than the tension setting is right for you.

The Stone

The Typical stone for an engagement ring is a diamond. Many women love diamonds but many do not. Emeralds can be a girl’s best friend too. There are many gemstones that are great for a ring.

Sapphires-Second only in hardness to diamonds. These beautiful blue stones will add glamour and color to any ring, especially an engagement ring. Sapphire the birthstone for September. This stone is great for the “Something old, something new, Something borrowed, something blue” wedding tradition.

Rubies-Rubies are great. Many Rubies are as expensive as diamonds. Red is the color of love and passion, so this is a great stone to show love for others. Rubies are the birthstone for July.

Try to buy conflict free diamonds, this way you are not support the violence in Africa due to the diamond market.

Amethyst – This stone is considered the most prized gemstone in the quartz family. The wonderful purple stone is great alternative to an expensive stone.
